Help for Dušan

We are reaching out to you with a request for help for Dušan Stuchlík, who suffers from multiple sclerosis in its progressive form:

I have been fighting this illness for 17 years, and it was diagnosed after I had lymphoma (Hodgkin’s disease) and underwent chemotherapy. At first, I was able to walk with crutches, but after 8 years my condition worsened to the point that I couldn’t walk more than 10 meters even with them. Without crutches, movement was impossible and I also suffered falls due to severe balance problems. After consulting with my neurologist, using a wheelchair became the only option to significantly improve my mobility. Today, I can move only in a wheelchair.

My mobility has declined so much that my wife can no longer load me into the car without outside help, and any transfer from the wheelchair is very difficult, if not impossible without assistance. A car is an absolute necessity for me to be able to reach the doctor and take part in any activity. I still try to stay active in whatever limited way my health allows.

Getting a car with a rear access ramp, which would allow my wife to load and unload me together with my wheelchair, is the only way for me to get anywhere. My motor skills are so impaired that I am no longer able to drive myself. I try to save as much as I can, but our daughter is still in school, so any help from you would mean a lot to me.

Therefore, I am asking you for a contribution towards a new car with a wheelchair ramp, which I need in order to remain mobile.
